Weeklong National Conference continuing education program kicks off and sets sail to the Mexican Riviera

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 20, 2018) – Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Cruise Line’s latest and most innovative ship, buzzed with excitement as Dream Vacations, CruiseOne® and Cruises Inc.®, one of the nation’s top travel agency networks as part of World Travel Holdings, kicked off its weeklong 2018 National Conference. The seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise departed today from Los Angeles, Calif., and sails to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas and will be home to 1,000 travel professionals as they immerse themselves in continuing their education to remain leaders in the industry.  

Serving as the master of ceremonies and the host all week, General Manager of Network Engagement & Performance Drew Daly welcomed a packed house to the first general session of the week. The learning started before the ship set sail, with Camille Olivere, senior vice president of sales for Norwegian Cruise Line participating in an informative and engaging question and answer session moderated by World Travel Holdings Senior Vice President of Product & Operations David Crooks. They discussed how agents can benefit from selling Norwegian Cruise Line’s Free at Sea program and deployment changes in 2019.

Every year National Conference has a charitable component benefiting World Travel Holdings’ signature charity Make-A-Wish®, which grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. Emily White, Southern Florida events coordinator for Make-A-Wish, introduced attendees to the organization’s powerful mission and outlined the onboard fundraising opportunities available all week. These activities include a silent auction, Zumba at Sea presented by Celebrity Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line granting attendees who make a donation exclusive access to the largest race track at sea for one night only.

The conference theme INSPIRE was selected by past conference participants and serves as motivation for attendees to take advantage of every opportunity presented to them throughout the week. The ultimate goal of a travel advisor is to inspire travel by using their knowledge to deliver a valuable service as they plan their clients dream vacation experiences, and at National Conference attendees will learn the latest industry insights on how they can inspire people to travel and see the world, while also sharing best practices and building stronger personal and professional relationships. Throughout the week, travel advisors will engage with each other, industry executives and more than 40 headquarters staff as they learn new techniques to take their business to the next level.
