“One of the things that has allowed us to do by owning our own Dream Vacations franchise is we both have ailing parents,” Futch says, “and it’s allowed us the time that we needed to care for them that normally we would not have been able to.” 

Aside from being able to take care of their loved ones, the couple has also been able to spend more time with their grandchildren—something that a travel agency owner is lucky enough to build their schedule around. With 11 grandchildren and a 12th on the way, the business has given them the freedom to be there when they are truly needed. “It’s given us time to help with them when they’re sick and they need to stay home from school,” she explains.
