Stockbroker Trades Brief Case for Suitcase and Starts a Home-Based Travel Agency
After the birth of her first child, Mara Hargarther decided she wanted to leave her job on Wall Street so she could stay at home and raise her children. Used to the fast-pace of the trading floor as a stockbroker, Mara knew she wanted to get back into the workforce, but on her own terms. She found it to be an easy transition moving from stockbroker to travel agent because of the flexibility to set her own hours.
While Mara owns her franchise with her sister, she finds that the Headquarters staff are her second family. She believes the relationships she has forged with suppliers and the HQ team are truly fulfilling. Plus, the support offered in marketing, training, tech support and everything on the back-end is unparalleled and not offered anywhere else.
Mara says that owning your own home-based travel agency business is a lot of hard work. But, if you have the selling skills and knowledge, then invest in yourself and your business and go all in. Set goals and plan to exceed them. If you get close to your goals, raise them.
Mara fulfilled her Dream Vacation to go to the Galapagos in 2016, so her new Dream Vacation is always her next one.
