Cruise Line Executives and Technology Headline at CruiseOne Conference

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (November 15, 2015) – The first full day of the CruiseOne National Conference aboard Norwegian Escape featured a general session with an interactive cruise line panel discussion, as well as an unveiling of a transformative intranet solution for agents.

In her opening remarks, Senior Vice President Debbie Fiorino reflected on the past year highlighting the team’s successes and how they got there. She attributed those successes back to the theme of Connect and noted, “It is impossible to grow without having strong connections. Strong connections feed strong relationships.”

World Travel Holdings’ (WTH) Senior Vice President David Crooks moderated a panel discussion of top industry thought leaders and executives including:

  • Adolfo Perez – vice president, trade sales and marketing, Carnival® Cruise Line
  • Keith Lane – vice president, field sales and national accounts, Celebrity Cruises®
  • Charles Dunwoody – senior director, national accounts, Holland America Line® and Seabourn®
  • Ken Muskat – senior vice president, sales & marketing at MSC Cruises USA
  • Alex Pinelo, vice president, key accounts, Norwegian Cruise Line®
  • Gordon Ho – senior vice president of marketing, Princess Cruises®
  • Vicki Freed –  senior vice president, sales, trade support and service, Royal Caribbean International®

Fundraising for Make-A-Wish®, the signature charity of CruiseOne and World Travel Holdings, is always a major component of the week. Keri Rivera, corporate alliances manager at Make-A-Wish America, shared the impact of a wish experience and highlighted the different fundraising opportunities taking place throughout the week. She also surprised a WTH employee in attendance by announcing that the first $10,000 raised at National Conference this year will sponsor the wish of her grandson.

The general session concluded with an IT update from Vice Presidents Sandi Szalay and Stacy Lowman.  The Mission Impossible-themed presentation reinforced the mission of having all IT programs be fully compatible with all web browsers and trending devices. The grand finale of the presentation included a flashy demonstration of the modernized and powerful new Intranet, the Business Center, which will change the way agents and Headquarters connect with each other. This updated Intranet will be mobile-friendly and encourage engagement among agents. It will solve for six missions which Sandi outlined in her presentation including mobile-friendly, a powerful search, engagement with Headquarters and each other, recognition opportunities, who’s who and where to go for help, and so much more than a standard Intranet.
